Crime Rate In Murrieta

Murrieta Police Department Releases 2016 Crime Statistics
The 2016 numbers “represent the 3rd lowest crime rate in the City’s history” according to City Manager Rick Dudley, with a 25% decrease in aggravated assault and 40% decrease in robberies. A more detailed look at the Crime Statistics can be found on the City’s website under the Police Department tab.
The Murrieta Police Department was established in July 1992, one year after the City of Murrieta incorporated. Although much has changed since the initial 25 sworn officers and 9 civilian employees began operations on July 31, 1992, the commitment by the men and women of the Murrieta Police Department to partnering with the community to provide the highest quality of service possible has never wavered. Murrieta is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in the country, and this ranking is a direct result of the partnership the police department has with our community.
