Hundreds of Business People Set to Attend VOIC Open Conference

The Economic Development Coalition, under the direction of Doug McAllister is presenting the region’s first International conference for business titled, Valley of Innovation Conference: We’re OPEN.

The conference is the first of its kind to attract business people from other countries to our region in southwest Riverside County. Three hundred to 500 people are expected to attend the event held at Pechanga Resort and Casino on October 26, from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. “This is an ‘outward’ facing event,” said Mr. McAllister. “We’re showing potential corporations why they should be locating their companies here, and why our region is the future of southern California.”

The line-up of speakers will include: Senator Jeff Stone; Joe Cesta, Regional Managing Director for CBRE; Mike Hestrin, District Attorney for the County of Riverside; Gary Jacobs, Jacobs Investments and the Lake Elsinore Storm; Mark Macarro, Tribal Chairman for Pechanga; Boris Said, President of BMW of Murrieta; Roger Schultz, President of San Jacinto College; and Jon Geske, Regional Vice President for CarMax. “Our speakers have very definite reasons for why their companies are located here—or why they want to locate here. That’s what they will be sharing with us,” said McAllister.

A 6,000 square-foot expo will be held in the East Ballroom and will be the main entrance to the speakers’ presentations. Five regional cities and the county of Riverside will each have space to meet and greet potential business developers, owners, managers, and C-level executives. Besides the cities, other vendor space is available. Attendees to the conference, besides meeting with other businesses, the cities and attendees, will have the opportunity to sign-up for complimentary city tours during the Expo. The tours will start at 1:30; a shuttle will be provided.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees, along with drinks and snacks. The tickets for attending are on sale now and are $120 per person. Businesses can also purchase a table of 10 for $1,200. The EDC is also offering sponsorship opportunities from $500 to $10,000.
