I-15 Shutdowns Near Temecula: Nightly Lane Closures One lane will be available for travel on each side of I-15.
TEMECULA, CA — Lanes on both sides of Interstate 15 south of Temecula will be shut down Tuesday evening and for the following two nights as crews make preparations for a $42 million pavement replacement project, according to Caltrans.
The I-15 Pavement Rehabilitation Project will entail replacing the No. 3 and 4 lanes on the north- and southbound sides of the freeway between the San Diego County line and the Temecula River Bridge.
To take measurements for new concrete panels, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., crews will close two lanes on the southbound side of the freeway between the Rainbow Valley turnout to Highway 79, and from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., two lanes on the northbound side will be shut down in the same area, for the same reason, officials said.
One lane will be available for travel on each side of I-15 through the construction zone.
The closures are slated to be repeated Wednesday night to Thursday morning and Thursday night to Friday morning.
Security Paving Inc. is the contractor responsible for the project, which requires replacing lanes on the stretch that are gradually deteriorating, according to Caltrans.
Construction work is slated to run until mid-2022.
