On Friday, May 8, 2020, the Riverside Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to repeal the recent health orders related to Short Term Rentals, Golf, Schools, Physical Distancing and Facial Coverings.
The Board simply rescinded any orders that were more strict than the State. All Riverside County residents are now subject to the State Requirements.
Some of the most frequently asked questions are:
- Face Masks - the State recommends them, but they are not required. While they may not be mandated by the State, every business will make decisions that best suit its workplace and health/safety goals. We encourage you to check in with businesses you visit, over their policies.
- Schools - According to the State, schools can reopen, but that doesn't mean they all will. The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted to keep K-12 schools closed, but higher education, trade schools, and vocational schools are free to resume.
Readiness & Re-Opening Framework - the County Board of Supervisors meets today in discussion over our County's readiness and re-opening. County staff has published a reference guide for the Board of Supervisors to view and approve. Upon approval, the County will approach the State with a request to expedite Riverside County's re-opening.
