Menifee Project Requested by Rep. Calvert Included in Transportation Bill
Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42) recently announced that $20 million for 42nd Congressional District transportation projects is included in the H.R. (House of Representatives) 3684: INVEST in America Act. The House Majority Leader indicated on Jun 18, 2021 that this bill may be considered in the week ahead. The Scott Road/Bundy Canyon Road Widening Project was submitted by the City of Menifee and is moving forward in Congressman Calvert's priority list. This $12 million funding request would help widen the existing Scott Road/Bundy Canyon road connection between I-15 and I-215 from a two-lane road to a four-lane corridor. The project area links the cities of Wildomar, Menifee, Murrieta and unincorporated areas of Riverside County. In addition to reducing congestion, the improvement project will significantly improve driver safety and reduce accident fatality along this high traveled, multi-jurisdiction corridor. Organizations including the Southern California Association of Governments, the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce, Loma Linda University Medical Center – Murrieta, and the Western Riverside Council of Governments submitted letters of support for the project.
