EDC Hosting First Regional FAM Tour
This event has been in the works for months, and we are excited to finally be welcoming 4 Site Selectors to the region. These Site Selectors focus on industries ranging from tech, to life sciences, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and more. We are working in collaboration with our city and county partners to highlight the incredible opportunities that our region possesses.
I want to thank all our sponsors: SoCal Gas, Southern California Edison, The Toll Roads, the Lake Elsinore Chamber of Commerce, and Stryder Transportation
We have a few more sponsorship spots open. If you'd like to be a part of the tour, let me know!
November Board Meeting Hosted by the city of Temecula
Thank you to the City of Temecula for being our host for the November Board Meeting. We will be meeting at City Hall in the Conference Room. Our guest speaker will be Jim McLaughlin with TEDxTemecula. I hope to see you there on November 3rd!
Board meetings are the perfect opportunity to invite a guest to learn more about the EDC and the value of membership.
EDC Launches a New Workforce Recruitment Program
This past month, I had the opportunity to partner with the City of Menifee to host the Mayor's Healthcare Idea Exchange. I was so pleased with the dialogue and engagement that took place there.
I was happy to be able to share our new SoCal Jobs page which was received with a lot of enthusiasm as well as have conversations about how the EDC can continue to increase our proactive approach to supporting our existing businesses with their workforce recruitment.
I'll be sharing more about this new program at our board meeting and I'm excited about how this new program can also provide enhanced benefit to our members. I'm already scheduling meetings with employers so that I can craft this program to most directly meet their needs. If you'd like to learn more, please let me know.
I also want to take this opportunity to once again thank Loma Linda University Medial Center-Murrieta and Brookfield Properties for sponsoring the event and to the City of Menifee for the opportunity.
Business Recruitment Efforts & Outreach
I was excited to attend ICSC in San Diego this month with several of our regional partners. While it was much smaller that the event held in Las Vegas there were still several productive meetings that I have been following up with this past week.
I also saw that registration for SelectUSA 2023 just opened. It will be taking place in May next year and I would encourage those who have not attended in the past to consider it. It was a very worthwhile event this year.
I also recently joined the Regional Leadership Academy that is organized by the Inland Empire Economic Partnership. Our first session was a couple of weeks ago and I can already see that I'm going to learn a tremendous amount about the region and connect with valuable partners through this program.
Welcome to our Newest Members!
I want to thank each and every one of our members. Because of you, we can do the important work of strengthening and diversifying our economy. I'm looking forward to seeing you all next month. Please reach out if there is anything that I can be of assistance with.
