Message from Executive Director, Connie Stopher

I want to start this newsletter off by saying that I hope each of you had a happy Thanksgiving. I hope that your holiday was spent eating delicious food and in the company of those you love.

This past week was also very special to me as it marked 1 year since I joined the EDC. I truly could not be more thankful to get to call this region my home and to get to work with such wonderful people every day. I'm thankful for the immense support, kindness, and warm welcome I have felt from every one of you. I'm looking forward to what this next year brings for the EDC and the region!

EDC Hosts First Regional FAM Tour

The EDC was proud to host the very first regional FAM Tour (familiarization tour) this month. We welcomed 4 site selectors who specialize in finding locations for tech, industrial, life science, and advanced manufacturing companies. The tour was a great success and we received a lot of promising feedback on the region.

Due to the success of this first tour, we're excited to share that this will be an annual event and we're looking forward to sharing the incredible business opportunities that this region possesses.

December Board Meeting with Guest Presenter Edward Guevara 

Our December board meeting will return to the conference room at the TVE2. We will be welcoming guest presenter, Edward Guevara. Edward is a retired veteran of the Marine Corps and will be sharing his experience with the SkillBridge program. This Department of Defense program connects active duty service members who are nearing the end of their service with career experience and job connections. This is a fantastic program for employers to know about so that they can recruit and retain high-skilled veterans to their organizations. Edward is now working as the Marketing Director for Rosenstein & Associates. I hope that you can join us for Edward's presentation this week.

Board meetings are also a great way to introduce the EDC to new potential members. Please feel free to bring a guest on Thursday.

Membership Committee

With so many new projects underway, it is more important than ever that we work to grow our membership. The membership committee will be tasked with:

• Reviewing member benefits/levels
• Identifying new potential members
• Membership engagement opportunities

Growing membership helps us achieve our strategic goals of enhanced recruitment efforts, expanding marketing reach, and additional member benefits. We will be kicking off the membership committee in January.
